Pastry Chef de Partie

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie. In this role, you assist the Pastry Chef in all kitchen functions including but not limited to food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of associates in methods of cooking/baking, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll skillfully prepare high-quality desserts and baked goods that elevate the culinary offering and leave a lasting impression on our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
• Help Pastry Chef with decorative cakes, statuaries and ornaments for special events, parties, and banquets.
• Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the culinary preventative maintenance programs.

What We’re Looking For 

• 2+ years’ experience in a high-volume bakery or other dining venue working in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, baking, cake decorating
• Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively. Bi-lingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
