FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:

The Information Technology Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring Bellco’s IT infrastructure runs smoothly, providing essential support to keep systems operational and secure. The role will work closely with a variety of team members of Bellco’s Technology CUSO.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: VP of Operations

Supervises: n/a


Contacts: Bellco Senior Management, Bellco Departments Management and Staff, Bellco Consortium Partners and Regulators (upon request only).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Minimum – BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science. Professional certifications a plus.

Experience: Minimum - Three years’ proven experience as an IT Specialist or relevant role. Experience with databases, networks and patch management. Knowledge of system security and recovery practices. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent communication skills. Financial institution experience a plus

Skills:
• Ability to troubleshoot technology and/or security issues
• Understanding of computer hardware, software and networks
• Understanding of security awareness practices, controls and training
• Strong ability to problem-solve and assist in the diagnosis of technical issues
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff clearly and effectively
• Strong attention to detail to ensure systems are secure and compliant with regulations and policies

Equipment: Computer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Technical Support – Aid users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues through direct support or, more often, through the support of Technology CUSO end user support teams to reach resolution.
2. System Maintenance – Assist Technology CUSO with facilitating an optimal maintenance schedule and process for Bellco branch and corporate technology.
3. Monitoring and Reporting – Gather documentation that identifies vulnerabilities, security breaches, hardware and software procurement, installation, maintenance and upgrades. Assist with Incident Response fact gathering, tracking and documentation when needed.
4. Documentation – Maintain library of technology control documentation including policies, procedures, guidelines, committee minutes, etc. Documents should be gathered or updated based on a defined review frequency and/or source.
5. Documentation – Maintaining records of software licenses, IT inventory and tracking the organization’s physical assets.
6. Audits & Exams – Work with leadership on technology and cybersecurity audits by supplying applicable documentation requested by auditors or regulators.
7. Projects – Facilitate the completion of technology and security-related tasks in Bellco and consortium-driven projects. Common projects include hardware and software upgrades and network installations.
8. Projects - Ensuring the smooth deployment of new applications.
9. Communications – Develop and/or assist in the development of technology-related Bellco communications to effectively communicate technology changes to Bellco users.
10. Communications – Develop and/or assist in the development or updates of training documentation related to technology operations and or security.
11. User Account Management – Complete regular reviews of user access and permissions to critical and non-critical systems.
12. Regular and punctual attendance.
13. Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May necessitate movement to other branches or departments and out-of-state travel to partner and vendor locations. (Bellco requires all employees who drive their personal or a company vehicle in the routine performance of the job to have a valid driver’s license. They must provide proof of valid insurance.)

Can be required to work odd hours and be available 24/7 via phone or in person.
