Objectives:
- Manage financial data and reporting activities, including ad hoc reporting requests, to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements
- Help foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive change within the department
- Assist with maintenance of consolidated chart of accounts to ensure consistency in financial reporting across all business verticals
- Assist with driving accounting systems compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
- Must be a forward looking, proactive leader with business experience in increasingly complex businesses, across geographies and business channels
- Must be an experienced, collaborative accounting professional with the interpersonal skills sufficient to function successfully in a growth-enabling and challenging position
- Must demonstrate the ability to implement new process improvement initiatives, integration of new businesses, and systems as needed
- Must have the ability to embrace and assume ownership of various processes and reports
- Attention to detail, superior organizational and project management skills, and exceptional communication skills are important
Key Responsibilities:
- Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide accounting, processing, and systems support for consolidation, financial reporting, and ad hoc management reporting activities
- Develop in-depth knowledge of systems, data, and reporting tools as well as understanding of the business processes related to general ledger accounts, including transaction flow
- Maintain chart of accounts, including the review of proposed changes to main accounts and other financial dimensions brought by management
- Prepare necessary updates to the chart of accounts, in addition to ad hoc financial reporting requests, analyses, and special projects requested by management
- Assist with accounting system integration activities of newly acquired companies as needed, ensuring account and financial dimensions are transitioned appropriately
- Recommend scalable process and procedural improvements related to consolidation, financial reporting, and management reporting activities
- Perform duties in compliance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Support the training and development of staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field required
- CPA designation a major plus
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience preferred
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Oracle Fusion and EPM experience a plus
- Alteryx experience a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and stringent deadlines within a fast-paced environment is a must
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Must have excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to effectively work with multiple departments, at all levels of the organization
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel – experience in Pivot Tables and VLookups
- Strong attention to detail
Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. To provide our employees with flexibility, we offer a unique benefit where employees at Fanatics' corporate entity can work remotely for up to four weeks per year, which can be taken in daily or weekly increments.
The salary range for this position in New York City is $87,500 to $120,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
