OHFA’s Office of Finance provides fiscal management, budgeting & accounting for OHFA & its programs.  The office manages mortgage revenue bonds, administers & services the Agency’s assets including its housing development loans.  The office also coordinates the annual federal & financial audits of all Agency funds, as well as prepares monthly financial reports & quarterly budget reports.

Job Description

The Office of Finance is looking for a dedicated Accountant (Bond Accountant Coordinator) who will:  

  • Create accounting spreadsheets from bond documents;
  • Create & explain financial statements & financial reports;
  • Provide direction & training to other accountants;
  • Locate errors & correct problems in accounting spreadsheets.

Qualifications

The Office of Finance is looking for a dedicated Accountant (Bond Accountant Coordinator).  Bond Accountant Coordinators are required to meet the following qualifications:

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or publicadministration; AND 24 months training or 24 months experience in accounting; AND 12 months training or 12 months experience in employee training and development. 
  • OR 48 months training or 48 months experience in accounting; AND 12 months training or 12 months experience in employee training and development. 
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.This position will be filled in accordance with the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association (OCSEA) contract.  If we are not successful in filling the position with a qualified, internal bargaining unit member, other applicants will be considered. At that time, preference will be given to those candidates who possess experience with bonds payable. Necessary Technical and Professional Job Skills: Accounting and Finance, Interpreting Financial Statements, Attention to Detail, Teamwork, Time Management
