Occupational Therapist Inpatient Rehab

Inova Fairfax Inpatient Rehab is looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team of dedicated therapists making a difference in our patients lives. This role is PRN, two weekend shifts a month, 1 major, 1 minor holiday required and additional shifts available if desired. Must be able to train during the week, Monday thru Friday. Beautiful Rehab space with state of the art equipment.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:
 

• Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
• Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: Not Required
• Education: B.S. in Occupational Therapy - masters preferred
• Licensure: Licensure: VA License required
• Certification: Certification: BLS through American Heart Association (AHA)
• Special Skills: Basic computer knowledge, proficient in English verbal and written skill

Preferred Experience:

• a year + working in an Inpatient Rehab setting
