We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to manage our Critical Concern Engineering Team. This pivotal role involves leading a team of Critical Concern Managers and engineers who are at the forefront of identifying, evaluating, and resolving high-impact critical concerns. You will be instrumental in ensuring the meticulous application of our comprehensive 14D structured problem-solving methodology across regional Critical Concern Engineering teams and guiding the team through the Field Service Action (FSA) process from investigation to implementation and serving as a critical interface across the enterprise.
This position demands strong leadership, deep technical problem-solving acumen, and exceptional communication skills to drive resolution, support senior leadership, and champion continuous improvement across our regional Critical Concern Engineering teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead & Develop a High-Performing CCM Team: Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of Critical Concern Managers and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning within the context of critical concern resolution.
- Strategic Oversight of Critical Concern Resolution: Provide strategic guidance and oversight for the team's portfolio of critical concerns, ensuring clear problem definition, quantification of impact, and establishment of robust resolution objectives for issues identified through CCRG, EPRC, and CSF forums.
- Mastery & Application of the 14D Process: Ensure the team's meticulous application and completion of the 14D structured problem-solving methodology and robust identification of impacted vehicle populations that will be included in Field Service Actions.
- Oversee FSA Process Guidance: Provide expert guidance to the team and root cause responsible activities throughout the entire Field Service Action (FSA) process (Identification, Evaluation, Approval, and Implementation phases), for potential Safety, Compliance, Emissions, or Customer Satisfaction FSAs.
- Project Management & Risk Mitigation: Oversee the application of robust project management principles to each critical concern, ensuring the team drives detailed action plans from the root cause owner, sets realistic timelines, manages resources, tracks progress, and proactively identifies and mitigates risks to ensure resolution projects stay on track and deliver results.
- Central Communication Hub & Stakeholder Management: Manage high-level communication and reporting for critical concerns, ensuring timely, clear, and concise updates to all stakeholders and forum chairs. This includes guiding the team in preparing accurate Field Review Committee Fact Sheets.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to identify systemic weaknesses the FSA process, propose global enhancements, and share regional best practices across the organization to drive a culture of continuous improvement and effective Prevent Action Closure (PAC) processes.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Guide and motivate CCMs in forming and leading dedicated, cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.), ensuring alignment and effective contribution towards resolution.
- Regulatory Compliance & System Expertise: Ensure the team's adherence to regulatory requirements and effective utilization of internal systems such as GRID (Global Recall Implementation Database) and the VERN process for suspect population determination.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of progressive experience in product development, manufacturing, quality, or a related engineering field within Ford or a similar complex automotive environment.
- 5+ years of leadership.

- Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience with Ford's 14D process or a similar structured problem-solving methodology (e.g., 8D).
- Proven ability to lead projects or initiatives within a cross-functional environment, including planning, resource coordination, and senior-level stakeholder communication.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions within a structured framework.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, from technical teams to VLDs/EDs and the FRC.
- Experience in guiding, mentoring, or influencing technical professionals or project teams.
- Familiarity with Ford's (or similar) quality systems and processes (e.g., FAPs, GRID, VERN, GSAR).
- Formal leadership or supervisory experience
- Deep understanding of automotive regulatory requirements, including NHTSA processes and Field Service Actions (FSAs).
- Proven track record of driving systemic process improvements and change management initiatives.
- Preferred -- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) certification
