Position Description

 

The Business Relationship Management (BRM) Team Lead provides strategic leadership and oversight to a team of Business Relationship Managers within the Information Technology Division (ITD). This role supports collaboration and acts as a primary point of focus between Districts/Divisions and ITD professionals — supporting BRMs in their role as strategic connectors between business needs and ITD capabilities, helping facilitate alignment and collaboration across teams to enable value-driven outcomes. This position requires regular engagement and communication with agency leaders. The Team Lead is expected to establish work plans and priorities for both themselves, and their team, and play a key role in advancing the maturity and effectiveness of the BRM program across TxDOT.

Essential Duties:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 6 years of experience in business systems analysis and design, project management or info technology management. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • • A minimum of one year of direct experience functioning as a Business Relationship Manager (BRM) at TxDOT, with demonstrated knowledge of agency-specific processes and stakeholder engagement.
  • • Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP)

• Developing IT strategies based on business goals and objectives
• Exercises logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; makes decisions that support business objectives and goals
• Monitoring and evaluating progress on work assignments, customer commitments, processes etc., to ensure timely and successful completion of assigned task
• Analyzing issues, facts and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies of facts or data; drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions
• Maintaining effective working relationships with others
• Communicating technical information effectively and negotiating requests to align with the goals of TxDOT
• Analytical and critical thinking
• Collaborating and cooperating with others to build effective working relationships with internal and external members to accomplish organizational goals.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions:

  • - Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
  • - Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
  • - Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • - Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • - Standing-prolonged periods of time
