Infrastructure Operations Manager

We seek an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Infrastructure Operations Manager to oversee NOV’s global infrastructure support, including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, Azure cloud environments, and core data center services. The Infrastructure Operations Manager will focus on team execution, issue resolution, infrastructure health, monitoring, incident response, and continuous service improvement of the server and storage infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of NOV’s infrastructure across over 550 global locations. Guided by industry best practices and a focus on reliability, security, and modernization, this leader will ensure alignment with broader IT infrastructure strategies and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and collaborative, possess strong operational leadership skills, and demonstrate proven experience managing complex, multi-platform infrastructure environments, including hybrid on-prem and Azure-based cloud systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the global Infrastructure Operations support team, fostering a collaborative, proactive, and high-performance environment.
• Develop, mentor, and coach operations personnel, ensuring continuous skills development and team engagement.
• Coordinate closely with infrastructure engineering, security, and networking teams to support shared goals and aligned operations.
• Ensure daily infrastructure operations, including server support, virtualization management, storage maintenance, and Azure environment oversight are handled efficiently and reliably.
• Manage incident resolution, service requests, and proactive maintenance across global infrastructure environments.
• Implement and manage policies and procedures that ensure secure, stable, and efficient infrastructure operations.
• Ensure timely incident response and clear communication to minimize disruption.
• Monitor adherence to SLAs, proactively identify issues, and drive continuous improvement through performance metrics.
• Utilize monitoring and analytics tools to identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
• Drive root cause analysis for recurring operational issues and collaborate with other teams to implement long-term fixes.
• Report on operational KPIs, identifying trends and recommending process adjustments where needed.
• Oversee structured incident response processes for infrastructure-related events.
• Coordinate with IT Security and Networking teams to ensure infrastructure is aligned with security and compliance standards.
• Ensure runbooks, response plans, and after-action reviews are kept current and relevant.
• Manage vendor relationships for infrastructure-related products and services, including licensing, support contracts, and SLAs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders, engineering teams, and PMO on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Assist with the development and management of infrastructure-related budgets, including forecasting and expense tracking to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Stay informed about infrastructure trends, Azure advancements, and operational best practices.
• Lead initiatives to modernize legacy infrastructure, reduce technical debt, and expand hybrid cloud adoption through Azure-based solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure environments, including diagrams, SOPs, policies, and system inventories.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• 7+ years of experience managing infrastructure operations teams, preferably in a global or multi-location environment.
• Extensive experience managing infrastructure operations across servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, Azure cloud, and data centers.
• Proven ability to manage global operations, incident response, and cross-functional team performance.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure monitoring tools, performance metrics, and operational KPIs.
• Hands-on experience with Azure operations, including IaaS resource management, virtual networks, storage accounts, monitoring, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments, cloud governance models, and migration strategies.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, and SAN/NAS storage platforms.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management concepts and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to implement operational procedures, manage large-scale infrastructure and Azure-based incidents, and drive performance optimization.
• Strong technical understanding of server systems, virtualization, storage, and Azure operations.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, adept at managing global teams and collaborating across functions.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required to support global operational teams and projects.
• Certifications such as ITIL, MCSA, VCP, or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred.
