In collaboration with Site & Corporate Leadership, the Finance Manager is primarily responsible for facilitating Forecast and Budget updates for Inpatient Operations across hospitals, as well as each hospital’s monthly close process. The Finance Manager is the primary liaison between Corporate Accounting throughout the close process. The Finance Manager builds relationships with site department leaders through the Finance Department’s regular monitoring of financial results. The Manager guides and or leads the development and enhancement of ERP and other relevant financial reports, which could be used by finance or operations.
The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, recruitment, retention, corrective action and professional development.
Leadership, Engagement and Exploration
- Handles Forecasting, Planning, and Analytic inquiries from Site & Corporate Administrators, Finance and Accounting, other stakeholders; with specific attention to accruals, reclasses, forecast adjustments, actual performance, and other financial matters
- Establishes and maintains a reporting structure which enables the Finance Department to efficiently and effectively complete monthly close, and forecasting and budget updates across the system
- Builds and fosters business partner relationships with hospital departments through reporting channels which support financial reporting needs
- Provides guidance and opinions to support strategic and operational decisions
- Supervise and monitor daily work activities of all Finance staff; determines increase in work volumes and makes appropriate adjustments to assignments when needed
Human Resource Administration
- Assist with personnel recruitment, performs hiring, completes annual performance evaluations, and initiates progressive disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Provide regular coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback for Finance staff
- Ensure that staff has the resources available to perform their assigned duties to meet established performance standards.
- Ensure associates know performance expectations and holds them accountable.
- Prioritize learning needs and motivates staff to achieve highest level of professional and personal development.
Continuous Process Improvements
- Regularly interacts with Corporate Finance, Accounting, Site Operations, and other stakeholders to evaluate opportunities to streamline reporting and analysis and improve the hospital(s) bottom line performance
- Providers education to operating departments to help leaders navigate financial systems and reporting
- Maintains current knowledge related to Finance and Accounting
- Supports expense reduction or revenue enhancement reporting
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
3 - 5 Years equivalent experience
Preferred - Certified Public Accountant
