The CRB Data Services team delivers strategic development and operational production support for our central data stores and data lake infrastructure.  We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in configuring and maintaining our DevOps pipelines to ensure our code and infrastructure deployments run smoothly. Reporting to our Project Manager you will work closely with our project team and support engineers, to ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and reliable.

This role spans both development and support as you will be the go-to person for everything DevOps. That means leading automation activity, improving workflows, and quickly resolving issues should they arise. Besides just managing our environments, we want someone who can mentor and up-skill other team members so they can handle Level 1 troubleshooting independently. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact while shaping how DevOps is done, we’d love to have you on board.

The Role:

  • Take full ownership of CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps – from setting them up to keeping them running smoothly.
  • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure resources using tools like ARM Templates, Terraform or Bicep.
  • Own the deployment process – automate, optimize, and ensure everything runs like clockwork.
  • Deploy and manage services in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Function Apps (Python and C#), and other Azure services.
  • Implement CI/CD for Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and optionally Databricks deployments across multiple regions using Terraform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly to maintain uptime and reliability.
  • Help train and mentor the team so they can handle Level 1 troubleshooting independently.
  • Collaborate with developers and IT teams to improve and refine processes, making everyone’s life easier.

The Requirements:

What you bring to the table

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline management, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes.
  • Strong experience with Azure cloud environments, including security and governance.
  • Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Arm Templates, Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools.
  • Experience deploying and managing AKS clusters, Function Apps (Python and C#), and containerized workloads, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse, Fabric, and Power BI is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting deployment issues and maintaining high availability.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also being a team player.
  • A growth mindset – you’ll have the chance to guide others, so your experience and expertise will help the whole team level up.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience of Databricks and Data Lake deployments
  • Exposure to AI Agents and Copilot studio implementations
  • Knowledge of multi-region deployments and disaster recovery strategies
  • Understanding of AI, Graph Databases, and NoSQL technologies

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Work with the latest technologies - always stay ahead of the game.
  • Be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team that values your ideas.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and plenty of opportunities to grow your career.
  • A flexible, modern work environment designed for how people work today.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys automation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You’ll be instrumental in streamlining deployments, optimizing performance, and introducing best-practice DevOps methodologies to deliver real impact across the organization.

If you’re ready to bring your Azure DevOps experience to the table, help us take our processes to the next level, and make a real impact on the team, we’d love to talk with you.
