Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the Community team serves as a connection between the products group that builds the next generation of data and analytics platforms and our community of users, influencers, and partners. They promote growth and product adoption across the Azure Data ecosystem. Their work is distinct from traditional engineering teams as they nurture professionals and foster innovation with Data Platform Community through user groups, blogs, forums, events, certifications, and more.

Microsoft Fabric Community Conference (FabCon) has shown amazing growth in the US and Europe and it’s only getting bigger & better. Additionally, we’re looking to expand our reach by delivering Fabric content around the globe with various smaller field led events. To make this successful, our team is hiring someone to help with event planning and logistics coordination and working with internal and external resources.

Responsibilities

  • Work with track leads, content team and community council to coordinate end to end session allocation & content review
  • Work with 3rd party organizers on logistics support for venue & space, AV needs, time/schedule, room layout for sessions, meeting track, add’l rooms as needed, etc.
  • Coordinate with marketing on execution of smaller Fabric Roadshow events including sessions, speakers, demand gen
  • Coordinate overall speaker & community communication, KBYG, T&E coordination, travel expense tracking, staffing and scheduling in various conference areas.
  • Assist with and monitor PO process from beginning through to payment to ensure event stays within set budget.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 2+ years experience in large scale event planning
  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • Experience in communication with C-level leadership in large enterprises
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.

Customer Experience Program Mgmt IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
