The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, an organization within CE&S, is leading the effort to enable customer success on the Microsoft Cloud by harnessing leading, AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to deliver innovative solutions that accelerate business value, drive operational excellence and nurture long term loyalty. One of the key mechanisms in which Microsoft activates the incredible talent of its technical teams for customer success is through Microsoft Unified. Unified enables a proactive approach with customers that results in accelerated value creation and sustained growth for the Microsoft Cloud. It serves as a growth engine for the company by getting hands-on with customers to understand their priorities and help drive adoption and optimization at speed.  

Unified includes four primary product service lines: Enterprise, Partner, Value Acceleration Services (VAS), and Mission Critical Services. This role sits within the Value Acceleration Services Line Team, where you will lead strategic alignment and execution of the VAS Portfolio.  

As the Business Program Manager for Value Acceleration Services (VAS), you will lead the execution of strategic initiatives across the VAS Portfolio by partnering with Sales Strategy, Delivery, and Enablement teams. Your focus will be on adoption programs, enabling field readiness, and translating business plans into measurable impact. You’ll shape and activate landing strategies, deliver performance insights through data analysis, and integrate sales feedback to continuously improve execution. This role is execution-heavy, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration and a bias for action to scale VAS effectively across solution areas and customer segments. 

This role has an expectation to be 3 days / week in-office.

Responsibilities

  • To stay competitive, you will perform program landscape analysis and examine business trends, while contributing to programs impacting the broader unit. You’ll also identify opportunities to develop and improve programs, and lead program strategy definition and project plan creation.  
  • You will lead others who work with cross-functional stakeholders to design highly complex programs from initiation to delivery. You’ll also lead the definition and tracking of success criteria and performance metrics.  
  • You will share best practices to define and execute on a landing and communication plan, leading the rhythm of business during execution. You’ll also share your expertise to promote the program and gain buy-in from stakeholders, partners, and customers.  
  • As you lead a portfolio of projects, you’ll communicate the program status and risk to stakeholders, and hold them accountable to following the schedule. You’ll also lead cross-team collaboration to ensure program processes are executed efficiently.  
  • You will provide insights to cost-benefit analyses and the evaluation of success metrics, while leading the synthesis of data analytics to derive insights and identify risks and opportunities. You’ll also lead and influence change management processes in the organization.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, product management
  • OR equivalent experience.  
  • 5+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. 

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
  • OR equivalent experience. 
  • Proven ability to lead complex programs, manage multiple priorities, and drive change in global, cross-functional environments. 
  • Data analysis and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Excel, Power BI, or SQL to track metrics and identify root causes. Continuous improvement mindset essential. 
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Effective in matrixed organizations. Able to lead cross-functional workstreams and build strong relationships without direct authority. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Skilled at tailoring messages for a wide range of audiences and influencing stakeholders across levels. 
  • Global program experience. 
 Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
