About this job:
The E-Sports Coach at Denver Public Schools (DPS) is responsible for developing and overseeing the school’s E-Sports program, creating a competitive and inclusive environment for student-athletes. This role includes coaching students in various E-Sports titles, fostering teamwork, managing team logistics, and ensuring alignment with DPS values of equity, engagement, and student success.

- Recruit, mentor, and develop student-athletes in a variety of E-Sports titles
- Design and implement structured practice plans that enhance player skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking
- Organize and supervise team participation in local, regional, and national E-Sports competitions
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive team culture that aligns with DPS policies and values
- Collaborate with school staff to monitor student eligibility, academic performance, and well-being
- Manage team logistics, including scheduling, equipment, and technology needs
- Educate students on responsible gaming habits, digital citizenship, and online safety
- Promote the E-Sports program within DPS and the broader community, encouraging engagement and support
- Ensure compliance with Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) or other governing bodies' regulations
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma/GED minimum
- 2+ years of experience in competitive gaming, coaching, or mentoring
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
