Job Summary:
Provides technical support on health, safety and environmental to production and site personnel under the guidance of the site HSE leader. Assists in the implementation, analysis, review and sustainability of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Plan Maintains skills and knowledge required to perform job duties. Determine gaps within corporate HSE initiatives and local health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Applies HSE culture ensuring it is integral to processes. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate recordkeeping standards in line with corporate data protection and retention requirements. Do Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard through internal reporting processes. Work as a HSE resource providing guidance on site internal processes. Support the implementation and maintenance of hazard identification, incident investigation and risk assessment processes, including delivery of training. Support closure of corrective and preventive actions. Communicate effectively to create HSE awareness. Coordinate environmental management activities. Perform administrative tasks as required. Check Participate in HSE inspection and audit programs. Actively participate and lead incident investigation and reporting. Assist in the analysis of HSE related trends. Act Maintain local HSE policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Support health, safety, environmental and wellness initiatives. Support implementation and maintenance of Emergency Response processes including delivery of training. Participate in local employee engagement initiatives to drive an interdependent culture. Quality Follows all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality checks. Identifies and controls non-conforming material. Teamwork Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
Develops and implements pertinent training; develops, implements, and leads health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness programs; maintains health, safety, environmental, and emergency preparedness program. Understands and implements relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements as defined by agencies (such as, OSHA, EPA, state regulations, corporate requirements, DOC, Department of Homeland Security). Co-chairs facility Safety, Health and Wellness Committees; serves as a primary contact for facility health and wellness issues; communicates health and wellness information with facility site management. Serves as facility Emergency Coordinator; leads facility emergency preparedness for Emergency Response Medical Teams. Represents facility on corporate occupational, health, safety, and environmental committees, as supervisor warrants time. Conducts occupational, safety and environmental audits with facility Health, Safety and Environmental Management departments. Understands and applies appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work and to systems; participates in the maintenance of quality procedures. Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching. Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Interacts effectively with all s of employees throughout the company. Exercises independent decision-making and initiative in determining what needs to be done and planning and implementing the needed activities; performs problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands on applications; coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops, leads, and participates in improvement projects. Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates confidentiality as required. Shares work with exempt and other OCU employees as required. Manages own work and maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet the demands of priority work; participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands. Travels as required by the position. Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done

Health, Safety and Environment Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis - Examines HSE incidents by completing quality, evidence based investigations with accurate root cause analysis, resulting in effective corrective actions, accurate reporting and avoiding repeated incidents.
Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems - Interprets and applies international standards through practical application within the operating environment to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification.
Risk Assessment - Evaluates hazards within the work environment by applying hazard identification and risk assessment techniques to analyze and prioritize risk, enabling a selection of control measures that reduce risk as low as reasonably practicable.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A two year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related field required.
- Education, Licenses, Certifications High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Must pass all related testing.
- Experience:
- Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and experience in health, safety, environment or related field.
Experience Four years of experience/education requirement accomplished through one of the following: Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or at least four years of relevant experience required
This role is pivotal in driving a proactive safety culture by leading risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce hazards and enhance compliance.
The successful candidate will act as the point of contact for different BUs located at CEP, mentoring site personnel and embedding health, safety, and environmental stewardship into daily operations and long-term strategy.

Preferred qualifications include, and experience implementing ISO standards in a manufacturing or industrial setting, COMET, Enablon, Risk assessments, and lockout tagout experience.
