The Program Director, Oracle Fusion ERP Modernization will provide day to day operational leadership for the UAH ERP modernization program. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, who also serves as the overall Program Executive, the Program Director oversees all aspects of Oracle Fusion implementation—including Finance, HR, Research, and Student modules—ensuring alignment with institutional strategy, and driving both technological and business process transformation to support the program’s stated vision, outcomes and guiding principles. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor partnerships, and drive digital transformation to modern cloud-based ERP operations. The Program Director must be an experienced IT executive with deep knowledge of ERP modernization, cloud migration, and large-scale program governance in regulated environments.
*This position will be term limited up to five (5) years with an optional extension of two (2) additional years.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the operational lead for the Oracle Fusion ERP modernization program, overseeing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure the program team executes the implementation of Oracle fusion according to the stated program vision, outcomes and guiding principles of the project.
- Translate complex ERP, compliance, and technical risks into actionable strategies for executive leadership, including the program steering committee.
ERP Implementation & Modernization
- Provide strategic oversight of and direct all phases of Oracle Fusion ERP implementation, ensuring seamless integration across Finance, HR, Student Information Systems, and Research modules.
- Collaborate closely with workstream leads in Finance, Human Resources, Student, and Research, as well as Change Management and Communications, to align requirements, manage interdependencies, and drive adoption across the enterprise.
- Oversee data migration, process automation, and system interoperability between legacy and modern platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and minimal disruption to university operations.
- Oversee ERP process design to ensure conformity with academic, administrative, and research compliance mandates across federal, state, and institutional levels, such as FERPA, OMB, HIPAA, etc.
- Ensure ERP operations consistently meet evolving compliance standards in finance, HR, student information, and research, reducing institutional exposure and ensuring audit readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Work in partnership with the Program Executive, lead communication and engagement with university leadership, faculty, and administrative stakeholders.
- Engage faculty, staff, and student representatives to ensure that end-user needs and perspectives are reflected in system design, process improvements, and adoption strategies.
- Partner with functional SMEs to capture current/future-state processes and ensure adoption of new workflows.
- Champion change management strategies that foster user adoption, culture-building, and long-term sustainability.
Governance & Vendor Management
- Manage vendor relationships with Oracle and consulting partners, ensuring delivery commitments are met and solutions are tailored to the university’s unique needs.
- Establish KPIs and success metrics to track program performance and report outcomes to executive stakeholders.
- Oversee program portfolio financials, optimizing costs and delivering measurable ROI.
- Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related field (advanced degree preferred), 15+ years of progressive IT leadership with direct experience in ERP modernization and cloud SaaS platforms (Oracle Fusion experience strongly preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• Demonstrated success in program management of multi-million-dollar technology portfolios in complex or regulated environments.
• Proven expertise in data integration, identity and access management, and system interoperability.
• Strong background in team leadership, organizational change, and cross-functional collaboration.
• US Citizenship is required
• This position will be term limited up to five (5) years with an optional extension of two (2) additional years.
- • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- • 5 Agilist or equivalent Agile program leadership certification
- • ITIL certification for service management
- • Experience working in higher education ERP implementations or government-scale ERP modernization programs
