Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and resourceful Associate Case Processor to join our Life Insurance team. In this role, you will partner closely with the New Business Case Manager to independently manage assigned life insurance and annuity cases, guiding them from submission through final decision. This role requires strong judgment, the ability to resolve case issues proactively, and excellent relationship-building skills with both advisors and carriers. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage assigned cases from submission through decision, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Review applications for compliance and determine corrective actions independently, escalating only complex issues as needed.
- Act as a primary point of contact for advisors on assigned cases, providing guidance, recommendations, and proactive communication.
- Interpret and apply carrier underwriting guidelines to anticipate case outcomes and prepare advisors accordingly.
- Coordinate with carriers to resolve escalated issues, negotiating solutions when necessary.
- Identify process inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and assist in implementing best practices.
- Contribute to the creation of training materials, case management resources, and advisor support documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments (contracting, commissions, marketing) to ensure seamless case flow.
- Exercise discretion in prioritizing urgent cases, making independent decisions on next steps to protect the client experience.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
Industry Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in case management, underwriting support, or new business processing within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity products, with the ability to interpret underwriting guidelines.
Background And Education:
- An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required
- 215 Life & Health licenses preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with proven ability to build strong relationships with advisors and carriers.
Technology Expertise:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce/CRM experience preferred.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work for extended periods at a desk using a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds if/when necessary.
- Routine use of telephone and email.
- Office-based role with potential travel to conferences, events, and satellite offices as needed.
