HNST is seeking a Medical Director that provides clinical oversight and manages the daily clinical operation and administration of a multi-disciplinary healthcare center. HSNT’s Medical Director serves as an essential liaison among Senior Leadership and the HSNT medical centers. The Medical Director drives communication and operational areas of medicine and carries out assigned programs to assure the delivery of quality medical care to patients, ensuring compliance, and assisting in the development and implementation of new policy and programs as needed, including PCMH initiatives.

Our medical providers love HSNT because we treat patients from all walks of life--regardless of socio-economic status--for a wide range of acute and chronic physical, mental, and social health conditions and in collaboration with a team of medical professionals.
HSNT is seeking a Medical Director that is passionate about leading other medical providers in providing care, education, and resources in a community health setting to patients and families that have very limited options for their medical needs; and those providers that are ready to embrace the challenge of maximizing their already existing knowledge base and experience in chronic conditions and infectious disease, including HIV.
A day in the life of our Medical Director may look like this:
- Engage as a member of the Leadership Team to implement the strategic direction of the organization as it relates to medical and health service programs.
- Provide clinical guidance and regularly reports on clinical activities at Leadership meetings, evaluates and monitors clinical measures and collaborates with providers to assure goals are met.
- Quality Committee Chair: Lead and direct the development and implementation of high-quality patient care services, programs and initiatives across the broad primary care continuum. Evaluate quality metrics annually, develop targets with Interdisciplinary team to provide clinical guidance, regularly reports on clinical metrics and progress, collaborate with clinical team to support meeting targets.
- Uphold, develop, and monitor adherence to Medical Center’s compliance with all medical policies, directives, rules, regulations and performance standards as defined by the state, federal government, and HSNT’s policies and procedures.
- Perform clinical supervision of medical staff, including regular performance reviews and feedback regarding clinical performance and professional conduct to staff consistent with HSNT’s performance management philosophy
- Chair and participate in regular interdisciplinary meetings with medical staff to assure quality patient care, including Peer Review and Credentialing Committee.
- Maintain appropriate levels of coverage for continued patient care to include Holiday coverage, maintaining minimum Provider staffing levels to support adequate patient access and safe patient care.
- Assess needs for in-service training; recommend and support continuing professional education for Medical Center Staff, coordinate efforts and deliverables with Clinical Informatics and COO.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Provides professional medical services as a primary care physician.
Requirements
We ask our Medical Director candidates to possess a minimum of:
- Education: Advanced medical degree.
- Minimum of 7 years clinical practice as a physician preferably in a community-based program.
- Progressive experience in managing provider teams and our group medical practice.
- Current full unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
- Board certification in area of specialty.
- Current registration with DEA, DPS and other such certificates required to legally operate as a practitioner in State of Texas.
- Possess a strong community health/public health orientation.
- Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in working in a patient-centered medical home environment.
- Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in an integrated delivery environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem solver with demonstrated analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of comprehensive health care issues. Experience or education in HIV and/or infectious diseases preferred.
