ER Care Center Technician, Full-Time, Camden

Essential Responsibilities:  This description of job responsibilities is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

1.

Performs routine EKGs, Holter Monitor applications, B/P monitor applications, Code Blue functions, and other monitoring situations in the emergency care center.

2.

Accurately and timely reports observations to the nurse and records, accurately and routinely, all vital signs or other pertinent information for the nurse.

3.

Demonstrates competent Foley catheter insertion using the sterilization technique.

4.

Demonstrates awareness of environmental stimuli and seeks to minimize harmful or stressful factors (i.e. noise, temperature, light and odors). Provides for the privacy of patients and families and keeping the safety of the patient in mind.

5.

Demonstrates basic knowledge/use of principles underlying nursing care and assists the patient to meet his/her basic needs.  Demonstrates correct procedure and positioning for the transport of patients and those requiring isolation, either protective or infectious.

6.

Demonstrates competent venipuncture techniques and utilizes correct procedure for the collection, labeling, and transport of specimens.

7.

Assists in teaching patients self care, to include crutch walking, catheter care, and splint care, and encourages patients to achieve independence within their limitations.

8.

Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. Consistently assists with care and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
