Job Summary
The Goodwill Warehouse Academy is a workforce development initiative designed to provide hands-on training and employment pathways in warehouse operations. Focused on individuals facing barriers to employment, the Academy combines practical experience with structured learning to build skills in inventory management, logistics, safety, and teamwork.

Under the guidance of the Manager, Program Delivery, the Warehouse Academy Program Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the development, supervision and coordination of the Warehouse Academy. This includes providing supervision, training and coaching of direct reports to ensure we are expertly supporting individuals to reach their employment goals.

What You'Ll Be Doing:

  • Taking a leadership role in the development of the program.
  • Fostering an inclusive, trauma informed, and strengths-based culture within the team.
  • Ensuring that individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Building interdepartmental relationships to support program effectiveness.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with relevant businesses, agencies and non-profit organizations.
  • Overseeing program evaluation and execution of program improvements.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing the needs of Program functions in support of long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Leading the reporting processes for funders and submitting required reports.
  • Utilizing case management software (e.g. ETO) to oversee individual time records, case notes, assessments, and files for Individuals.
  • Maintaining Intake information, and implementing individual program plans to ensure program participant success.
  • Meeting Key performance Indicators (KPI’s) which include, but are not limited to, job placement rates, program completion rates, participant and employee satisfaction scores, documentation and compliance.
  • Coordinating and monitoring program team’s communication to ensure compliance.
  • Managing direct reports including:
  • Ensuring all work placement sites are provided with qualified and trained job coaches. 
  • Setting clear expectations for work assessments to meet individual participant’s employment goals and monitoring progress towards goals.
  • Attending management meetings, community meetings and participating in external committees, as required.
  • Under the guidance of the Manager, Program Delivery:
  • Acting as an advocate and positive role model in all stakeholder interactions, demonstrating appropriate work behaviour and communicating in a professional manner.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities, in service training and staff meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Developing, supervising and monitoring schedules.
  • Setting clear expectations for direct reports and monitoring performance.
  • Supporting intake services or providing job coaching relief to accommodate team member vacations and personal time.
  • Documenting team member performance for the purpose of performance evaluations.
  • Submitting relevant incident documentation to Health & Safety.
  • planning agency orientations, in-service training and team development workshops.
  • ensuring compliance to industry standards, while making any necessary accommodations for the individuals served.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of employment supports, working with individuals with disabilities and/or barriers, or working with persons from diverse backgrounds.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
  • Rehabilitation or Social Services diploma, or equivalent education in the human services field preferred.
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to travel to sites throughout the region and surrounding areas.
  • Must pass a criminal records check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficiency with UKG and ETO software, an asset.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and de-escalate conflict effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using various instructional methods.
  • Possesses knowledge of various vocational areas and an ability to break job tasks into specific steps.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and use good judgment quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to influence, empower and motivate others and hold team members accountable for the completion of responsibilities.
