Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team in Gaborone, Botswana. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies
- Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance issues
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update company policies accordingly
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance across all business operations
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters
- Investigate compliance violations and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations
- Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and external auditors
- Oversee the implementation of compliance-related technology solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in compliance management or a related role, preferably in financial services or regulated industries
- Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) are highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of local and international regulatory frameworks, with a focus on Botswana's financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
- Excellent policy development and implementation abilities
- Proficiency in conducting internal audits and creating comprehensive reports
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Solid project management experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
