The PSM strategy recognizes that we will continue to deliver value to our LinkedIn Marketing Solutions (LMS)LMS and Linkedin Sales Solution (LSS)LSS businesses, and that the lion’s share of our investment will be going to directly drive growth in these two areas. 

As the Sr. Staff Engineer leading Engineering Excellence, you will play a critical role in driving the health, reliability, and scalability of our systems. You will:

  • Spearhead key technical and operational initiatives supporting AI/product platforms foundational across Products and Services Marketplaces (PSM) and partner orgs. 
  • You will also drive large-scale cross-functional AI platform initiatives and build executive alignment to deliver impact. 
  • Define and champion the metrics that matter most for system health.
  • Lead improvements to monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices across engineering teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering groups to embed operational excellence into day-to-day development.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to anticipate migrations and ensure our use cases are well-represented.
  • Influence and inspire a culture of engineering rigor, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This role blends deep technical leadership with cultural impact, ensuring our systems are not only reliable today but positioned for long-term growth and resilience. Successful candidates will have a solid track record of technical program and project management and will have demonstrated excellent leadership, along with superior organizational and communication skills in leading teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes. In addition, the right candidate will possess superior B2B business strategy sense, product intuition, and technical understanding to fully integrate with product development teams and contribute at any level of depth. 

Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and evolve metrics to measure system health, reliability, and operational excellence across engineering teams.
  • Lead initiatives to improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response, enabling proactive management of system reliability.
  • Document technical requirements, acting as a liaison between platform owners and internal customer teams
  • Establish and champion best practices that embed engineering excellence into day-to-day development and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on migration and platform changes, ensuring product use cases and business requirements are addressed.
  • Drive cross-functional efforts to reduce technical debt, improve scalability, and strengthen long-term system resilience.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align teams around a strategic vision for system health and engineering excellence.
  • Drive alignments and prioritization across all technology initiatives, manage roadmap for a single consistent view and lead communications
  • Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure program success
  • Convey complex technical concepts and progress updates to executive-level stakeholders, fostering understanding and alignment across multiple organizational units.
  • Drive prioritization discussions, emphasizing the importance of technical depth and credibility to gain support for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative field - Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Economics or related fields
  • 8+ years of experience in Ads Stack or infra
  • 5+ years of experience in leading Engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in designing and building scalable, reliable infrastructure for marketing technology platforms.
  • Deep expertise in the Ads ecosystem, with a demonstrated ability to design and launch impactful products that drive results.
  • Ability to lead by example and inspire the team to perform at a high level, and collaborate very well across different teams.
  • Good understanding of large-scale engineering systems and some or all of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, distributed key-value stores, streaming processes, recommender systems, statistical methods, and experimental design.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with ambiguous fast-changing problem landscapes, convert vague and ill-defined problems into well-defined problems, take initiative and encourage consensus building across partners.
  • Strong leadership abilities in order to communicate and drive cross-functional efforts. Good relationship building and people skills.

The pay range for this role is $198,000 to $326,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
