Our Sat Connect IC business unit, a division of our Satellite Systems business is a leading provider of ASICs, software, multibeam electronically steered antennas, and complete systems for communication satellites, as well as ground and airborne terminals. Communication Systems Engineer

Be a part of MDA space (IL - Rehovot) system engineering group, leading the design of satellite communication terminals.

• Working with worldwide R&D teams and customers
• Understanding product requirements and deriving system and sub-systems requirements
• Be a technical lead and owner of the system under your responsibility, working with various R&D teams in the company
• Leading and taking part in system integration

Responsibilities

As a part of the team, the responsibility is to get a product designed from stakeholder requirements, setting requirements for all company’s disciplines – System architecture, HW, SW, RF, antennas, analog, DSP & mechanics.

• Create and own system requirements and specification documents
• Leading system integration plans and carry out integration activities
• Carry out system reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR), risks mitigation plans and design tradeoffs
• Defining system architecture, interfaces, functionality and features
• Simulating performance and various system functionalities

Experience And Qualifications

Must

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in EE
• At least 3 years of experience as a system engineer. Proven record of system engineering of multi-disciplinary product including RF and antennas domain.
• Deep understanding of Tx and Rx RF channels and DSP
• MATLAB/Python hands-on knowledge
• Lab experience – system / module / component level

Advantage

• Background and experience in communication systems and algorithms – advantage
• Experience or knowledge in chip design and mixed-signal SOCs architecture - advantage
• Experience in a system full life cycle – from product requirements to customer delivery
• Experience or knowledge of ETH network systems, features and SW stack

• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Creative, innovative, willing to learn and share knowledge and ideas
• Leading tasks and taking ownership
• Languages – High level of verbal writing in English is required
