Job Description

The Senior Tax Accountant will lead tax compliance, planning and reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This role is instrumental in maintaining audit readiness, managing tax systems, and supporting strategic tax initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the tax compliance, tax accounting and tax-due diligence for the region
  • Manage monthly sales and use tax reporting for various entities
  • Maintain and optimize the Vertex tax engine, including taxability rules and ERP integration
  • Vertex resale and exemption certificates management
  • Ensure compliance with state-level taxes (e.g., tangible property, withholding, excise
  • Establish and maintain an audit-ready tax organization, including documentation and retention processes
  • Ensure statutory compliance through timely filing of annual state reports
  • Federal and state income tax – assist with quarterly prepayment calculations, review tax returns, reconcile book-to-tax differences, and prepare deferred tax entries
  • Manage states tax correspondence, queries and audits
  •  Support various tax audits by gathering data and preparing necessary documentation

Other

  • Participate in HQ tax and treasury projects and cross-functional initiatives
  • Conduct tax research and educate the accounting team on tax and regulatory changes
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and support special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • CPA certification required (in progress with multiple sections passed is acceptable)
  • BS in Accounting required
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate or public accounting setting
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and tax engines (Vertex or Avalara).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt, challenge the status quo, and drive improvements
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively

Additional Information

Audemars Piguet offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This role is eligible for bonus. Salary will be based on relevant skills and experience.
