Purpose

Join our Finance Transformation team as a Data Governance, Associate Director to lead the development and enforcement of our enterprise-wide data governance framework.

This role is a key driver in establishing and enforcing our enterprise data governance framework, with a special focus on implementing data policies and standards for finance master data. You will contribute to finance data strategy initiatives by ensuring data is managed effectively to deliver business value, maintain integrity, and support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Data Governance and Policy Leadership

  • Leads the development, documentation, and communication of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining the framework for data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across the organization.
  • Develops and deliver data governance training programs to educate employees on governance principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including IT, business operations, and compliance, to define and enforce data standards, data quality rules, and governance processes.
  • Collaborates with data owners and stewards to ensure the effective application and adoption of policies.
  • Develops and maintains data governance frameworks, including data dictionaries, and classification standards.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for policy interpretation and compliance issues, working to resolve data governance conflicts.
  • Defines, monitors, and reports on key metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and maturity of the data governance program and its impact on strategic goals.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data governance and master data management, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Data Strategy Project Support

  • Provides guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure new data initiatives and products adhere to defined governance policies and standards from inception through deployment.
  • Identifies opportunities where data governance can enable or accelerate strategic business initiatives, such as improving decision-making, increasing operational efficiency, or monetizing data assets.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting, computer science, information management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years combined experience in accounting, financial reporting, business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of master data management concepts, including data modeling, data mapping and data quality management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex data governance and master data management issues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to connect data governance to broader business strategies and deliver measurable outcomes.
