Essential Tasks And Responsibilities:

In a manner consistent with Unified Community Connections’ Mission Statement, the Day Program Supervisor will:

  • Function as a team member with Unified management staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the Agency.
  • Ensure required services are provided to individuals served by Unified including meals, personal hygiene, medical care and recreational activities.
  • Monitor and maintain Day Program compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Prepare the Day Program budget and monitor program expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budget.
  • Conduct formal 1:1 supervision of direct reports.
  • Oversee the Day Program to ensure quality program outcomes by providing training, supervision, and field mentoring of staff.
  • Build and maintain a positive and professional relationship with all Unified consumers, care providers, employers, service coordinators, counselors, staff, and the community at large.
  • Serve as a professional resource to within Unified and in community networks in the development of support for individuals with disabilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between residential programs, coordinators, parents, physicians, and other professionals, as necessary.
  • Adhere to Agency policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the Day Program staff and others as assigned.

Qualifications:
The specific requirements listed above represent most of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to fulfill the requirements of the position.   To successfully perform this job, the employee must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential task.

 Must be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:  supervision, budget management, service delivery, problem solving, project/task management, time management, dependability, good judgment, and safe work practices. 

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services is preferred.  Two (2) to four (4) years in of experience plus two (2) to three (3) years experience in a supervisory role.  Knowledge and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure:  whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. 

 Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and written correspondence and interpret documents; write reports and complete forms or other documents as required; and effectively communicate with others including individuals in Unified programs, family members, medical professionals, co-workers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.

Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and electronic records systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 points and successfully pass defensive driving course prior to driving.  Must possess or be able to pass and maintain CPR and First Aid certification. 

Training: Must complete, pass and maintain all DDA required training.  Must complete, pass, and maintain Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP), if applicable.  Must complete, pass, and maintain Behavioral Principles and Strategies (BPS) training, if applicable.

Physical Demands: While performing the tasks of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, and use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with arms and hands, balance, lift, stretch.  Must be capable of lifting/moving over 75 pounds.  Vision abilities required for this position include, near distance, far distance, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The following are required to be considered for employment:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services is preferred.  Experience will be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years in of experience plus two (2) to three (3) years experience in a supervisory role.  Knowledge and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Schedule:

Primarily Monday through Friday day shift.
