About The Role:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Sr. Director/ VP of Finance will be responsible for building and leading a world-class finance organization and will work cross-functionally to build and maintain a thorough and effective annual operating plan for the company while driving alignment to that plan.
Craft is looking for a strategic and operational finance leader who can serve as a member of the executive team, strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team for strategic planning purposes. This person will oversee all sides of financial and accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, tax preparation, and financing.
Note: This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, and requires three days in office. Candidates must be located in the San Francisco area.
What You'Ll Do:
- An Architect for Growth - Responsible for managing and growing the global Finance organization to support the company’s revenue growth and expense management objectives.
- Strategy, Tactics and Process - Maintain and drive strong internal controls and processes that support our business objectives. The VP Finance will understand how to build processes that scale, and drive adoption of these processes across the company. They will collaborate with Revenue Operations and the People Team to drive compensation strategy across the company.
- High-growth, Enterprise Software Expert - The VP Finance will demonstrate an expert understanding of GAAP, cash basis, and accrual basis accounting. They will have experience with interstate and international financial operations and taxation issues as well as in-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting including cost accounting, revenue recognition, audit, tax compliance including relating to equity compensation, and other regulatory matters. They will own our pricing model with a thorough understanding of how pricing impacts profit margins.
- A Strong People Leader - An effective leader who can inspire and rally their team, through high integrity, accountability, excellence and humility. Build and retain a world-class team for our finance function consisting of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and skill-sets collaborating hyper effectively. They must inspire, encourage, enable, and develop high performers, while developing a strong culture of predictability, accountability, and consistency.
- Functional Collaboration - Serve on the Executive Team as the principal voice of the Finance organization, creating and nurturing a highly effective feedback loop between Finance and all other departments. Ability to productively challenge, debate and help the entire team come to the best decisions for the company. Position reports to the CEO and is a key thought- and execution-partner.
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of experience leading a high-performing Finance organization in a fast-growth, venture-backed technology organization.
- Deep understanding of strategic finance, driver of strong connectivity between operational functions and the finance organization to deliver results.
- Track record of building robust, flexible financial models, scenario planning.
- Detail and results-oriented approach; skilled at both strategy and hands-on execution; data-driven and intuitive and empathetic to the needs of executives, employees and investors.
- Analytical skills with a data-driven approach to managing projects.
- Exceptional people management, mentoring, coaching, and development experience.
- Strong curiosity, desire to experiment with, and experience leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate work and outcomes.
- Solid foundation in financial analysis and modeling, such as developed through completing the analyst program at a top-tier investment bank (or equivalent rigorous finance training at a leading institution).
- Strong executive – action-oriented and leads from the front with creative, strategic, and financial acumen. Strong business intellect necessary for taking the business to the next level.
- Consultative venture funding expert who has the ability to work with investors in a creative and collaborative manner.
- A high degree of intellectual horsepower, high learning agility, and demonstrable emotional intelligence.
- Collaborative and hands-on, with top notch relationship building skills, an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to represent the company with credibility and build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- A builder – of teams, processes, systems, and culture.

- Competitive salary starting at $240,000 USD/ year. This starting number can be increased based on levels of expertise, location, cost of living, taxes, market experience, etc.
