About The Role

At Flora Food Group’s head office in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Junior Financial Controller – Global Principal to strengthen our team. This role is central within our global team and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the world. You will act as the key link between our central team, our Shared Service Center and business partners across multiple regions. 

The role combines financial controlling, intercompany reconciliation, and eco-tax compliance responsibilities. It is a challenging and highly visible position that requires excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills. 

What you will do 

As Junior Financial Controller, you will: 

• Act as the main contact point for global intercompany cross charges and allocations and ensure accuracy and completeness. 
• Work closely with our Shared Service Center on manual invoicing and reconciliations, while also contributing to process improvements such as e-invoicing and system-based controls. 
• Manage eco-tax reporting for most of Europe: 
• Serve as the contact person for eco-tax calculations across different regimes. 
• Liaise with both external (tax authorities, designated vendors) and internal stakeholders. 
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly eco-tax returns. 
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting in the required formats. 
• Contribute ideas for process automation and simplification as we move toward more system-driven financial control. 

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?  

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. 
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in financial controlling, accounting, or audit (experience in an international environment is a plus). 
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. 
• Excellent prioritization and organizational skills – able to balance competing demands. 
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal). 
• Hands-on, proactive attitude with curiosity to improve processes and systems. 
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations, reporting, or eco-tax is an advantage.
