About Us

QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.

At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.

As the Team Lead for Interposer Development, your mission is to guide a multidisciplinary team in designing, prototyping, and testing the critical building blocks of a novel 3D architecture for next-generation quantum computers. You will oversee the development of subsystems and components, ensuring technical excellence while driving toward ambitious milestones. In this role, you’ll balance hands-on technical leadership with strategic project management. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, resource allocation, planning, and performance management of the team, while fostering an environment where engineers can thrive and innovate.

What You’Ll Be Doing:

As Team Lead, You Will:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a small team of engineers developing advanced interposer and 3D packaging solutions for quantum hardware applications.
  • Drive R&D projects from early concept through prototyping to manufacturable processes — including contributing hands-on where needed.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors, managing outsourced activities and ensuring seamless integration of external technologies into our products.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including bilateral check-ins, sprint planning, and team meetings, to keep progress aligned and transparent.
  • Allocate resources strategically, balancing workload across engineers, coordinating cross-functional contributions, and aligning priorities with company objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and accountability, ensuring the team delivers technical excellence while adapting to the fast pace of a scale-up environment.

Your Profile

You don’t need to tick every box, but if most of these apply, we’d love to hear from you:

Technical Background

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in physics, electronics, mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in hardware R&D within semiconductor packaging, advanced interposers, RF/microwave systems, aerospace, photonics, or other deep-tech industries.
  • Proven ability to help take hardware from prototype to manufacturable, scalable solutions.

It would be a plus if you bring experience with:

  • Advanced packaging approaches (2.5D/3D integration, TSV, flip-chip, wafer-level, heterogeneous integration);
  • Thermal management, mechanical stress, and reliability in complex hardware systems;
  • Signal integrity challenges in packaging and interposers, and/or
  • Packaging development for quantum applications
  • Proven track record leading small, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong project management skills: able to deliver complex R&D programs under uncertainty.
  • Comfortable building scalable processes in a scale-up/startup environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both engineers and business stakeholders.

Leadership

  • Strong people management skills, including coaching, developing talent, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborative, structured and pragmatic
