Your RoleWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. You will design, develop, and maintain software components for Apex.AI products, in particular Apex.Grace and Apex.Ida, collaborating closely with team members to deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will be expected to grow your technical expertise, take ownership of medium to large features, and be an active leader for improving development practices.

What You'Ll Do—Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of major software components or projects.
- Write software of the highest quality, efficiency, and maintainability
- Write technical specifications, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Drive cross-functional technical discussions and decisions.
- Mentor and support junior engineers through pairing, design, and code reviews.
- Champion process improvements, simplicity, and operational excellence.
- Stay current on industry trends and integrate relevant technologies where valuable.
- Communicate clearly through design docs, tech talks, and documentation.
- Take ownership of initiatives and ensure successful delivery, balancing technical and people leadership.
You Have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Outstanding C++ and Python skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from conception through delivery
- Strong software design and architectural skills
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, guiding engineering teams, and driving technical direction
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Focus on quality and usability of software
Great To Have
- Experience with ROS 2 and real-time operating systems
- Familiarity with networking, TCP/IP, sockets programming, and distributed systems
- Experience in working with various communication middleware’s
- Skilled at optimizing performance of software on constrained, embedded environments
- Prior contributions to open-source projects or industry standards
- Delivered safety-critical software according to industry safety standards such as ISO 26262 in production projects
- Experience in technical leadership roles, balancing hands-on coding with mentoring and strategic direction
