The Role
We're looking for a strategic Issuer Processor Operations Partner to join our Issuing & Deposits Operations team within FinOps. You'll own and execute the day-to-day operational activities that keep our card issuing products running smoothly—from Cash App Card to Square Card and beyond.
You'll be the operational expert who ensures our issuer processor ecosystem delivers flawless customer experiences. You'll partner with our strategic partnerships team to operationalize major initiatives, troubleshoot processor performance issues, and maintain the complex infrastructure that powers billions of card transactions.
This is a collaborative position where you'll work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Program Delivery teams to align operational efforts with our priorities and product innovation. You'll also engage directly with merchant ecosystem stakeholders to optimize card acceptance performance and resolve challenges that impact our customers' ability to use their cards.
You Will
- Execute day-to-day issuer processor operations, including implementation of processor requirements, network mandates, and operational readiness initiatives
- Monitor and enhance processor performance, identifying trends, surfacing issues, and implementing scalable solutions
- Be the subject matter expert for operationalizing network rule changes, product launches, and compliance requirements
- Support card issuing strategic initiatives by contributing operational insights, planning input, and cross-functional execution
- Build technical and strategic perspective on processor operations, collaborating with Technical Product and Engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities
- Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on processor operations and merchant performance
- Collaborate with network relationship management team to ensure our activities align with broader partnership goals
- Engage with key merchant partners and acquiring stakeholders to ensure Cash App Card performance and troubleshoot acceptance issues
- Lead or contribute to operational projects that enhance card program scalability, compliance, and customer experience
You Have
- 8+ years in card issuing, payments operations, or issuer processor operations (fintech, banking, or payments industry)
- Deep understanding of card transaction flows, merchant acquiring, and issuer processor operations
- Experience executing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Experience resolving operational issues with external partners such as issuer processors and acquiring banks
- Comfortable presenting to large audiences and driving complex conversations with stakeholders
- Ability to build consensus, communicate decisions, and influence outcomes across teams
- Experience with processor-side operational implementations (rule changes, performance monitoring, program certifications, platform enhancements)
- Familiarity with card acceptance issues, merchant testing, and transaction authorization logic
- Background in regulatory or compliance frameworks in payments or banking in FinTech or technology companies
