As Scaled Insights Senior Director at IAS, you will be part of a highly performant team that is a center of innovation for the company and a major contributor to the company's core products. The Scaled Insights Senior Director will work on challenging technical problems that cut across the entire Scaled Insights function. This includes developing and pushing out reusable assets such as ML/DL models, at scale, to enable insight discovery across IAS’s product portfolio. These assets function to create value for customers and IAS and to increase the thought leadership perception of IAS.
The ideal candidate has a track record of delivering deep learning-based models at scale, enjoys working with cross-functional commercial and technical partners to deliver scaled insights solutions within tight timelines, and brings innovative solutions to complex problems, always with a burning desire to improve the status quo. Additionally, as one of the early members of our Scaled Insights team, you will have the opportunity to help build the team and shape the team’s culture.
What You’Ll Get To Do:
- Scope work and projects in the realm of machine learning, focusing on deep learning applications in content classification, fraud detection and outcome analysis across IAS’ product portfolio.
- Establish and communicate a dynamic, prioritized research agenda and insight development roadmap for internal stakeholders to aid rapid, efficient insight development and delivery.
- Work in a heavily matrixed environment with a diverse, collaborative, cross functional team inclusive of the Data Science Org in Engineering to leverage a variety of data sources to build production-ready ML models and generate insights.
- Collaborate as a senior practitioner within the broader Research & Insights and Scaled Insight teams to integrate solutions within larger insight workflows, including training and guiding other team members on best practices for model development.
- Apply advanced analytics algorithms, inclusive of machine learning to novel problems in online advertising and scale these solutions.
- Gather and analyze Voice of Customer input associated with insight delivery to discover unmet customer insight needs, prioritize insight needs, help shape Product solutions and drive adoption.
- Ensure successful production level delivery of Scaled Insights to IAS internal stakeholders and potentially directly to external customers.
- Be responsible for establishing and maintaining mechanisms for Scaled Insights delivery across the Scaled Insights team including supporting the selection of Bespoke Insights for Scaling.
- Effectively communicate results from ML/DL models and statistical learnings to a variety of stakeholders within Product, Product Marketing, Marketing and commercial teams as well as to customers and leading industry organizations.
- Become a key contributor to end-to-end delivery of client facing revenue generating Scaled Insight products.
- Represent the Scaled Insight Team with the Engineering and Product Management teams and interact with them to provide data governance input and ensure robust, precise, consistent and easily accessible data that is fit for use for advanced analysis and insight generation.
What You’Ll Need:
- Advanced degree (MSc, MBA, PhD, DBA preferred) in a relevant technical or business field (statistics, physical sciences, economics, machine learning, computer science, business analysis, etc.).
- Solid research background and experience in machine learning, signal analysis algorithms and advanced data visualization.
- Familiarity with IVT, GIVT and SIVT and advertising safety measurement.
- 10+ years of industry experience, with technical leadership, and experience guiding ML projects from start to finish.
- Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python and with deep learning frameworks (tensorflow, pytorch, caffe, etc)
- Deep familiarity with relational databases and SQL - must be able to be self-sufficient as far as ETL is concerned.
- Experience with deploying ML models in insight POC development and scaling.
- Experience with applying GenAI in insight development process improvement and ML model development.
- Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
- Experience distilling product requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives.
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for learning new technology, able to identify market trends.
What puts you over the top:
- Practical experience extracting insights from audience interactivity data, retail media network data, natural language processing, machine translation, and similar insight discovery problems.
- Familiarity with Databricks, PySpark and visualization systems like Tableau/Looker.
- Publication record in deep learning / neural networks or adjacent fields.
- Experience working with distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.) and/or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).New York Applicants: The salary range for this position is $135,100 - $231,600. Actual pay may vary based on experience or geographic location.
