Materials Planner - Hamptonville Metals/Plant 2

Job Summary:

Under general direction performs system development implementation, material tasks associated with supplier production scheduling, material release placement, expediting and problem resolution. In addition, at the direction of the Materials Manager, manage material strategy in support of business goals and objectives. Drives maximum efficient of our Dynamics 365 ERP system.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Analyze demand signal generated by Production Scheduler, Dynamics 365 MRP and other raw material inventory management systems and plan Supplier orders to support inventory and production goals.
• Work closely with production planning and receiving staff to insure on time delivery of raw material and supplies.
• Review Dynamics 365 ERP reports to determine when new material release orders should be placed for required raw materials and supplies
• Develop best practices for the maintenance of data to maximum the effectiveness of our Dynamics 365 ERP system.
• Conduct root cause analysis for raw material or supply shortages and report to production scheduler and Management team.
• Serve as an active participant in continuous improvement.
• Provide cost and operations analysis to highlight opportunity areas and to explain actual performance.
• Work with plant schedulers and area production managers to minimize stock-out situations and develop contingency plans.
• Participate in and contributes to the accurate completion of Physical inventories as required and per appropriate outside auditor requirements. Continually address inventory turns and levels, keeping the balance of the organization informed of trends, shifts and targets. Maintain appropriate kanban levels in conjunction with division purchasing and forecasting requirements.
• Maintain MRP accuracy levels and pull sheet documentation with all appropriate suppliers. Ensure daily planner activities are completed in a timely fashion to support the ongoing business activities.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate:

• Associates degree preferred (Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering)
• 1-3 years of materials planning experience with exposure to multi-level BOM structures.
• Experience with a broad array of material commodities and product cycles.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Experience with MRP systems Dynamics 365 preferred
• Excellent people and communication skills.
