Tactical Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Position Summary:

ANSER is seeking a Tactical Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Department of War (DoW) Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, you will provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis to support the DoW tactical communications enterprise.

Day To Day Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive oversight of the DoW’s tactical radios, waveform development, and security requirements
• Develop strategy content to shape the direction of the DoW’s tactical communications modernization efforts
• Develop detailed and comprehensive overviews of associated tactical radios and waveforms communications systems that identify critical capabilities, capability gaps, and roadmaps to guide the evolution and modernization of DoW tactical communications systems
• Document current tactical communications capability gaps and requirements, identify potential capability alternatives to resolve mission shortfalls, and conduct/participate in Business Case Analysis and Analysis of Alternatives efforts
• Provide assessments of compliance with DoW guidance and standards, technology insertion, performance and scalability, and interoperability
• Provide tactical communications support and analysis for DoW CIO representatives at various high-level governance forums and meetings
• Draft policy to support the DoW in achieving tactical communications modernization goals and enhancing Joint, Allied and Partner interoperability
• Provide subject matter expertise to DoW and interagency technical working groups with tactical communications
• Analyze and advise DoW CIO leadership on foreign miliary sales involving tactical communications systems

Required Qualifications:

• Must have an active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Master’s degree in a field related to the position plus 15 years of professional experience; or bachelor’s degree related to the position plus at least 17 years of professional experience; or a high school diploma with at least 19 years of professional experience.
• Senior action officer experience in OSD, Joint Staff, or military department or staff
• Excellent client interfacing skills, oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to learn and successfully execute in a fast-paced and rigorous environment  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the Office of the DoW CIO
• Foreign military sales experience
