An IT Technical Support Analyst II - Public Field Support position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ new Public Safety Field Support division. The Public Safety Field Support team provides end-user technical support to the City of Fort Worth’s first responders, including Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services personnel. The team ensures the reliable operation of field-deployed technology used by public safety professionals, delivering responsive service to support mission-critical operations in dynamic environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or two (2) years of major course work in Computer Science or a related field
- Two (2) years of experience in computer-related positions such as operating systems, networking, or database administration
- Minimum of one (1) certification specific to the Technical Support Division
- Valid Driver’s License
- Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check (see below for details)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CompTIA A+ Certification
- Experience supporting 24/7 Public Safety end users (Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Services)
- Experience with mobile data computers (MDC’s)
- Experience with City of Fort Worth end user support tools
The IT Technical Support Analyst II - Public Field Support job responsibilities include:
- Support of Public Safety end users, tools, and devices
- Participation in the on-call rotation
- Work with other ITS teams to deliver excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate documentation in the City service management systems and knowledge bases.
Working Conditions and Physical Demand
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
