POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Regional Director-South San Francisco is responsible for overseeing a high-quality extended learning program for students. They will collaborate with families, school and community partners to ensure the program's success. As a member of the BGCP K8 Leadership Team, the Associate Regional Director will provide oversight, input and feedback to ensure consistent implementation of programs in the South San Francisco school district.
This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure Program Implementation & Fidelity
- Manage and develop the site leaders in the South San Francisco school district, ensuring quality programming for students and strong cultures for staff
- Facilitate regular observations of program, assessing and evaluating sites' performance, providing constructive feedback, and implementing site improvement plans when necessary
Manage & Develop Site Team
- Facilitate regular regional team meetings (bi-weekly or monthly) to ensure that site leaders' goals and actions align with the organization's broader mission and strategic objectives.
- Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly 1 to 1 meetings with direct reports to discuss site goals and performance, and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with instructional coaching team and associate site director to determine weekly and monthly program goals and focuses
- Develop and train staff on the site systems and plans (Safety Plan, Emergency Plan, etc.), aligned with school partners/BGCP/BGCA
- Help site teams understand and manage site level budgets
Manage District Partnerships
- Meet regularly (bi-weekly or monthly) with district partners to maintain alignment on shared goals, exchange updates, make adjustments as needed
- Ensure and/or facilitate communication between BGCP site leadership & school/district leaders
- Create regular opportunities for district partners to engage with and observe program
- Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of site data management systems to maintain all data required by the district
- Complete monthly audits of data systems to ensure that the ASES & ELOP data is accurate across BGCP and District platforms (Rosters, Food/Snack Distribution)
- Create and maintain systems for regional materials inventories, emergency supplies, program materials purchases, and IT/Operations helpdesk tickets
Oversee Site Budgets
- Maintain systems for expense budget management in order to stay within given line items
- Review budget & expenses monthly/quarterly in 1v1s with site leaders
- Develop annual budgets with site leaders
- Ensure effective management of hourly staff time/overtime
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, crouching, squatting, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 80% walking & standing. Work environment noise level is usually moderate but can be noisy at times. All requirements are subject to reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
- Commitment to BGCP’s mission, vision, and values, with a passion for serving K-8 youth and families
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience leading teams and programs, including at least 3 years supervising staff in an educational or youth-serving environment
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse youth communities, families, and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to different audiences
- Proven success in recruiting, coaching, and supervising staff and volunteers, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture
- Skilled in implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure the well-being of youth, staff, volunteers, and visitors
- Ability to think critically, make sound decisions, and take ownership with confidence
- Experience collaborating across teams and with external partners to achieve shared goals
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adjusting to shifting priorities
- Experience leading donor tours or community-facing presentations preferred
- Spanish fluency is a plus

- Monday 10:30 am - 7:30 pm
- Wednesday 9:30am-6:30pm
- Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 10:00am-7:00pm
Compensation & Benefits
- Employment Status: Full-Time, Salary
- Pay Range: $100,000-110,000, depending on experience (DOE)
