Your New Role and TeamSanctuary AI, a world leader in building dexterity-driven Physical AI for general purpose robots, is looking to hire a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Operations team. The Manufacturing Process Engineer is a crucial part of our team, supporting product commercialization, NPI and volume manufacturing.
Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you’ll contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our growing organization.
As Sanctuary AI’s Manufacturing Process Engineer , you'll be a valued part of the team as you support the continued improvement in our Operations function, own the coordination of team project deliverables, and innovate best practices that drive continuous improvements in our product commercialization, NPI and volume manufacturing.

Success Criteria

  • Lead manufacturing process development, deployment and improvements to support new product introduction and ensure appropriate TTQV (Time To Quality and Volume) metrics are met.  
  • Develop manufacturing capacity models for new and existing products.  Work with cross functional operations team to improve and ensure capacity availability to meet production plans.
  • Initiate, align, and drive technical projects (process development, process and equipment qualifications, assembly and test automation,  sustaining engineering etc.) to improve product design and manufacturing outcomes
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and drive design changes where applicable to enhance product manufacturability and manufacturing yields.
  • Develop and monitor manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure process performance for quality, productivity, output and downtime
  • Implement process improvement projects to make manufacturing process more robust and reliable with Lean manufacturing tools, such as 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone diagram and one-piece flow
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities between R&D and pilot to volume  manufacturing.
  • Help develop New Product Introduction processes, procedures and checklists.
  • Develop process validation plans and execution (IQ, OQ, PQ or similar) to achieve process control and product performance requirements
  • Review product designs for testability and serviceability and make design change recommendations as needed.
  • Support process development efforts at key suppliers as needed.
  • Deploy and refine process controls using risk management tools such as PFMEA’s

Your Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering or similar discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering or industrial engineering roles with experience working with highly complex electromechanical products.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level.
  • Good experience with problem solving, root cause analysis, and analytical problem solving.
  • Previous experience in working with contract manufacturers, domestic and offshore.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines; able to balance short-term, urgent needs with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical assembly, hydraulics, and complex machining.
  • Applied design of experiments experience
  • Demonstrated application of data analysis and statistical tools in manufacturing (MiniTab experience a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment working with tight deadlines
  • Ability to proactively communicate consistently, clearly, and honestly
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and good organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Proactive with high sense of urgency and a relentless drive for results
