Job Description:
The Sr. Consultant, Total Rewards Insights and Experience in responsible for the build, creation, integration and insights across Canadian Total Rewards data, measurement and outcomes. The role is also responsible for developing and executing best practices, routines and materials that will help to increase promotion, value and appreciation of our offerings.
The role will report to the AVP, Total Benefits, Canada, with a dotted line to the VP, Total Rewards, Canada. The role partners closely with the Canadian TR leadership team and colleagues.
What will you do?
Data Reporting and Insights
- Design, create and update new data repositories, reporting, insights and visualization for integrated total rewards reporting. This will involve combining or updating disparate data reports, information and insights from both internal HR sources, aggregate reporting from our benefits and consulting providers. The scope covers physical, financial, mental and social well-being
- Act as the lead for the Canadian Total Rewards team on use of OneModel to support reporting. Responsible for updates and promoting usage, experience across the team to leverage data in OneModel
- Collaborate with People Analytics and other Analytics leads in the HRBP and Talent teams on data reporting best practices and partner on data ingestion processes or projects, as needed
- Conduct complex analyses to describe impact, opportunities, and outcomes of Canadian Total Rewards programs. Create, gather, test and report on hypotheses for our offerings.
- Analyze and prepare data insights from quarterly engagement surveys for Canadian employees, specifically those relating to Total Rewards or adjacent programs. Provide recommendations and suggestions to leadership on outcomes, areas of opportunity and strength
- Liaise and partner with colleagues in Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services on plan reporting, to ensure that information is leveraged for insights and action
Employee/Leader Experience and Communications
- Develop framework and strategies to increase appreciation, perception of value, understanding and awareness of Total Rewards offerings and options
- Lead or support creation of draft employee and leader communications, including data-driven proof points, in partnership with Corporate Communications. Develop or partner on key collateral to showcase our outcomes, including one-pagers, info graphics or other creative delivery channels
- Provide subject matter expertise on communication methods, approaches, tools for Total Rewards to ensuring consistency of language, branding and accessibility for our materials
- Produce one-pagers, summaries, and employee webinars to enhance understanding of Total Rewards offerings
- Owns and maintains integrated Canada TR communication calendar/schedule and ensures connectivity and sequencing to pace message. Partners with colleagues and leaders within Canada TR
- Support Total Rewards leadership with data and insights for media interview or panel opportunities
Information Gathering and Support
- May be involved in gathering feedback or research to inform employee preferences and program enhancements
- Identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiencies in data management and reporting processes
- Support and coach colleagues on data insights, employee materials, as needed
- What do you need to succeed?
- University degree with over 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in data insights, marketing, communication or employee experience
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel, Access, Tableau or Power BI. Experience in Workday and OneModel would be an asset
- Experience with digital tools such as Confluence and Viva Engage or other communication channels and tools
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Experience with creating and building new approaches and bringing innovative ideas to fruition
- Experience with total rewards programs, benchmarking would be an asset
- Acts with strong judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential data and sensitive information

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
