Join our Haleon Global Engineering Transformation & Innovation team based in London, for a 12-month industrial placement, starting in July 2026.

This placement presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automation and digital engineering within a global consumer healthcare setting. You’ll play a key role in supporting the implementation of advanced technologies—including new manufacturing equipment, robotics, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and manufacturing data analytics—while contributing to Haleon’s strategic ‘Build for Tomorrow’ transformation programme.  

As an Automation & Digital Engineering placement student, you’ll be exposed to a wide range of engineering activities, enabling you to develop a broad and versatile skill set. 

Throughout your placement, you will have the opportunity to: 

• Gain insights from subject matter experts, enhancing your technical and professional development. 
• Engage with emerging technologies, including advanced automation systems and digital tools. 
• Collaborate across functions, working with teams in Quality, IT, Technical, and Procurement to support the seamless integration of automation and digital solutions. 
• Contribute to analytics initiatives, supporting data modelling, visualisation (e.g., Power BI), and performance tracking for engineering and transformation projects. 
• Support project coordination, assisting in the planning, execution, and delivery of automation and digital engineering projects. 

Requirements:

• We welcome applicants currently studying for a degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or Digital Engineering who are creative problem-solvers and enjoy collaborating with global teams to apply. 
• A genuine passion for innovation and emerging technologies, with a desire to contribute to forward-thinking engineering solutions. 
• If you are studying for your Undergraduate Degree, you must be in your 2nd year of study (England) or 3rd year of study (Scotland) and seeking to complete a year in industry in partnership with your university.   

Role Start Date: July 2026

Application Process:

The application process has a total of up to 4 stages:

• Application – information will be required regarding your education and Right to Work.
• Online Assessment – you will be asked to complete a behaviour based online assessment/interview.
• One-Way Video Interview – if selected you receive a link to complete an online interview focusing on your motivation for joining Haleon and what transferrable skills you will bring to the role. This will be screened by the Early Talent Team.
• Interview – if selected you will be invited to attend a virtual interview; The interview will consist of a competency-based interview and may include a case study/technical exercise.
• Offer – candidates will receive an outcome within 2 weeks following interview.

Interviews will be held in November/December 2025
