Position Summary
The Senior Director, Operational Excellence will be a key leader within F5’s Corporate Strategy team, responsible for driving enterprise-wide operational transformation and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This leader will design and deliver frameworks that streamline processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen alignment across global functions. By partnering with senior executives and business unit leaders, this role ensures that F5’s strategic priorities translate into measurable operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of enterprise operational excellence initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
- Partner with senior leaders across business functions (Engineering, Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, People & Culture) to align operations with F5’s corporate strategy.
- Establish and manage performance frameworks, KPIs, and metrics to monitor execution and measure impact.
- Drive process optimization, automation, and standardization efforts to eliminate inefficiencies and improve speed to execution.
- Lead cross-functional transformation programs that accelerate growth and profitability.
- Build and develop a high-performing team that brings operational rigor, analytical insight, and change management expertise.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations that influence decision-making.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline across the organization.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate strategy, operational excellence, or management consulting.
- Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation and operational improvement initiatives in a complex, global technology company.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect strategy to execution and measurable outcomes.
- Expertise in performance management frameworks (e.g., OKRs, Balanced Scorecard, Lean Six Sigma, Agile).
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with C-level executives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive alignment across functions, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The annual base pay for this position is: $239,200.00 - $358,800.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
