The Performance Marketing Team is the engine behind business growth as it handles the majority of marketing activities. This includes targeting the right audience through campaigns, distributing content via channel marketing, conducting a thorough analysis of campaign launches and budgets, and also ensuring compliance via surveillance and governance all to maximize results and maintain a competitive edge. Role Summary/Purpose:
Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Media and Creative Organization committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while also delivering leading customer experiences. Within this organization, our Creative Technology and Development Team will be responsible for designing and delivering dynamic media ad formats, HTML email templates and optimized landing pages. As an Analyst, you will be responsible for the coding, producing, proofing, testing, and troubleshooting HTML email templates. As an ideal candidate, you should have in-depth knowledge of creative & brand guidelines and specifications that include email/graphic design, testing across devices/platforms to ensure a consistent email experience in webmail as well as other email applications such as Google Gmail and Microsoft Outlook.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize HTML/CSS and email marketing best practices to create and code responsive email templates
- Develop and build responsive email code using design files such as Figma, PSD, Indd and XD
- Modify existing responsive email templates based on clients requirement
- Contribute to the continued modernization and evolution of the HTML templates
- Performing quality checks and peer reviews by adhering to brand guidelines
- Apply the best practices in email development, email compliance regulations, and accessibility
- Develop high-quality and optimized HTML emails in line with company goals and objectives
- Ensuring identical rendering across browsers, ESPs, and devices
- Code, setup, test, and debug ad hoc email templates with dynamic content
- Proactively work with teammates to improve processes and work methods for greater efficiency
- Keep up with industry standards and new best practices in email development
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of professional experience in advertising/digital marketing agencies and/or in-house digital creative teams and in lieu of a degree 5 to 7 years experience required.
- Minimum 2+ years’ proficiency with HTML, CSS, table-based layouts, mobile-responsive design (including dark mode support), and JavaScript coding
- Minimum 2+ years’ enterprise-level experience with email and/or digital marketing platforms such as SFMC, Eloqua, Zeta Mail, or Epsilon PCM
- General understanding of how Marketing supports business stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and process documentation skills
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills with a proactive approach to follow-up on requirements
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development, including responsive email design
- Experience using design tools, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, etc.)
- Relevant experience utilizing Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Eloqua, Zeta Mail, or similar software; agency experience preferred
- Technical understanding of platform-specific scripting languages (e.g., AMPscript, FreeMarker, Liquid) and/or advanced JavaScript is a plus
- Extensive experience with email testing tools, such as Litmus, for thorough QA across multiple browsers, clients, and ISPs
- Understanding of dynamic content configuration based on segmentation and personalization techniques
- Familiarity with generative AI, automation, and advanced technologies to streamline email coding and improve development efficiency
- Willingness and capability to learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with team members
- Ability to professionally interact with key stakeholders throughout the development process
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of professional experience in advertising/digital marketing agencies and/or in-house digital creative teams and in lieu of a degree 5 to 7 years experience required.
Work Timings:
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
