This position is responsible for ensuring that the Cook Room is supplied with proper vegetables, according to the production schedule. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all Food Safety requirements are met and correct, including all CCP’s. Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is correct and accurate.

- Schedule: Monday - Saturday (Sundays as needed) - 3rd Shift: 10:30 pm - 7:00 am

- Salary: Based on experience and other qualifications: $22.05 per hour + $1.50 Shift Differential
Areas Of Responsibility:
- Perform pre inspection on wash tanks
- Perform pre inspection on dicers and metal detectors.
- Perform scale calibration.
- Verify correct cut size and replace any damaged blades.
- Print small tags for Process Orders that will be diced.
- Operate Urschel Dicers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Properly break down equipment and sanitize as needed.
- Place chlorine with proper PPM in wash tank for conventional Q-codes.
- Properly covers all diced drums with blue lid and place small tag on it labeled with time.
- Follow all published SOP’s.
- Properly sets up area with proper pallets and keeps organized.
- Properly track and report all pounds diced on TMOS board.
- Ensure ingredients are weighed properly.
- Ensure reprocess is used in a timely manner.
- Must keep the work area clean and free of debris.
- Must adhere to all safety policies.
- Immediately notify supervisor and QA of any food safety issue
- Must be Forklift certified.
- Must have SAP access. To keep track and report.
Essential Functions And Duties:
- Operates and maintains keep equipment in operating order including startups, changeovers and adjustments to ensure efficient operation in the kitchen. Break down and sanitize equipment.
- Perform periodic quality checks as needed.
- Consistently maintains clean and safe work area being sure to remove any foreign material that could contaminate product.
- Communicate with the kitchen as to know where they are in the schedule.
- Performs efficient and timely change overs according to production schedule to minimize downtime.
- Efficiently trouble shoots mechanical problems to ensure continuous operation.
- Responsible for notifying lead/supervisor to submitting work orders for equipment repairs.
- Must wear all required PPE.
- Inform Management of ANY Food safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
- Safely and accurately perform all duties as required for this position to ensure the safety and quality of our products.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor/lead.
Knowledge And Critical Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Validation on position or machine will be required after initial training.
- Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly with little supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction, as well as basic math calculations.
- Must be able to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to work on all lines and perform all positions, including changeovers.
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays/Sundays, as determined by business needs.
- Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts.
- Experience in manufacturing or production preferred.
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Must be able to work with tools and make small adjustments to equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to perform the following: standing, climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
Environmental, Health And Safety Requirements:
- Must wear all required personal protection equipment associated with specific manufacturing work environment and job duties as stated in the Employee Handbook, posted policies, or as assigned by leadership personnel.
- Maintain clean and safe working environment and follow all safety policies and procedures, such as lock out/tag out, safe lifting techniques, and all others as instructed.
- Inform Management of any food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
Food Safety:
- Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
- Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
- Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming products in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required
