Senior Manager / Ops Tech (Contract)

[What the role is]

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join the Ops Tech team developing an innovative remote tree management system. The successful candidate will contribute to the transformation of urban greenery management as Singapore transits into a City in Nature. The Ops Tech Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing the work of vendors in the implementation of technology solutions that support the organization’s operational processes. As the Ops Tech Senior Manager, you are required to work closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, innovation, and digital transformation.

[What you will be working on]

You will be overseeing projects requiring the processing of LiDAR data for tree inventory management, as well as satellite imagery data to provide comprehensive tree health monitoring and analytics. This role combines technical expertise in geospatial data processing with practical applications in environmental monitoring. You will need to collaborate with operations team, IT, and other departments to scope and draft a contract for the implementation of tree health monitoring system and work with third-party vendors to implement the system. You will need to work with arboriculture specialists to validate remote sensing interpretations against ground-truth observations with the objective to develop algorithms for change detection, anomaly identification, and predictive analytics based on integrated remote sensing datasets. You will share and present technology solutions to interested parties at booth engagements, conferences and media engagements. You may also identify opportunities for digital solutions to support day-to-day greenery management operations

[What we are looking for]

• Demonstrated experience in satellite analysis and LiDAR processing.
• Strong understanding of different sensor types, their capabilities, limitations, and appropriate applications for vegetation monitoring.
• Familiarity with IoT sensor networks and data integration challenges.
• Experience working with commercial satellite data providers and familiarity with common geospatial data formats including GeoTIFF, shapefiles, and netCDF.
• Knowledge of image processing techniques, spectral analysis, and vegetation indices relevant to tree health assessment.
• Ability to work with APIs and automated data acquisition systems.
• Proficiency with geospatial software and programming languages including GIS platforms, Python or R for data processing, and experience with machine learning approaches for remote sensing data analysis preferred.
