About The Role
GEICO is hiring a Manager, Data Engineering, to join their Claims Innovation team. As a Manager, you will lead the Data Engineering teams efforts enabling data ingestion and analytics across the department and with external partners including rapid advancement in team skills, capabilities, and infrastructure. This role partners with cross-functional teams within and without Claims Innovation to deliver innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
- Drive the implementation of best practices in data engineering and stay updated with the latest industry trends.
- Monitor and optimize data infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving any issues.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the strategic direction of the data engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams, preferably as a senior analyst team leader or manager.
- Proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Snowflake and cloud platforms (specifically Azure).
- Significant experience with Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Power BI and Power Apps.
- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills including effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data engineering within auto insurance or P&C insurance generally.
- Claims systems, processes, and procedures.
- Management experience with direct reports in a data engineering environment.

Annual Salary
$136,325.00 - $212,175.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
