Role Details:

To ensure the success of the faculty, as Associate Dean & Head of Department, you will provide strong academic leadership and be responsible and accountable for the management of an academic partnership with a partner university, focusing some of the areas below.

Responsible and accountable for the management of an academic partnership with a partner University.
Build strong external communication lines with the University.
Resolve academic related issues.
Ensure adherence to the regulations and procedures of the Partner University, Faculty and Academic Boards.
Find ways to improve student retention, progression and attainment on all programmes within the partnership.
Leadership and Line management of a department academic team on a day to day basis in accordance with best practice and policies
Support the Dean of Faculty, the Senior Dean and the Executive Dean in the strategic development and implementation of new academic programmes within the department.
Support in the completion of quality assurance, review and enhancement activities on the course to ensure positive impact on KPIs, Teaching Excellence and the achievement of university or national standards.

• Criteria for Selection (Please click through to read the job description):
• Doctorate (or close to completion) is desirable.
• Postgraduate qualification, preferably in subjects to be taught, is essential.
• Undergraduate qualification, preferably in subjects to be taught, is essential.
• Relevant teaching qualification or HEA fellowship is essential.
• Experience of improving and developing learning and teaching practice
• Successful track record of developing and sustaining a high quality student experience.
