Job Purpose
The Senior Principal Enterprise Architect aligned to Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing business unit at GSK will play a vital role in aligning technology strategies with the operational and strategic objectives of the supply chain and manufacturing business unit. You will define and enforce enterprise-wide architecture principles that ensure scalability, security, interoperability, and operational efficiency across GSK’s global manufacturing footprint and supply chain operations. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes, combined with the ability to provide technical leadership to enable digital transformation, streamline operations, and drive business value through innovative technologies.
As a trusted advisor and technical leader, you will be responsible for promoting standardization, ensuring flexibility, and enabling scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions. This role requires a visionary thinker who can balance business objectives with technical realities while fostering user-centric design principles across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Strategy and Principles
- Define Architecture Principles: Establish and enforce enterprise-wide architecture principles tailored to the needs of supply chain and manufacturing, with a focus on scalability, operational efficiency, security, and interoperability.
- Technology Alignment: Develop technology strategies that align with the objectives of GSK’s supply chain and manufacturing business, including optimization of production, logistics, procurement, and inventory management.
- Roadmap Development: Create and maintain architectural roadmaps that deliver sustainable business value while addressing current and future operational challenges.
Digital Transformation for Supply Chain & Manufacturing
- Enable Smart Manufacturing: Lead architectural efforts to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, robotics, digital twins, and predictive analytics to optimize manufacturing operations.
- End-to-End Supply Chain Visibility: Architect solutions to enable end-to-end visibility across supply chain operations, leveraging advanced analytics and real-time data.
- Automation and AI: Guide the implementation of automation, AI, and machine learning technologies to enhance production efficiency and decision-making.
- Sustainability: Architect solutions that align with GSK’s sustainability goals, including energy-efficient operations and reduced waste across supply chain and manufacturing processes.
Standardization And Governance
- Standardized Frameworks: Define and enforce standards across supply chain and manufacturing systems, ensuring consistency and interoperability across global operations.
- Compliance: Ensure technology solutions comply with industry regulations, such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO standards, and other applicable policies.
- Governance Models: Establish governance frameworks to ensure architectural consistency, risk mitigation, and alignment with business goals.
Technical Leadership and Collaboration
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical authority for supply chain and manufacturing architecture, providing guidance on complex and innovative projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with supply chain leaders, manufacturing teams, IT, and external vendors to ensure solutions meet operational needs and drive value.
- Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and coach IT and business teams on enterprise architecture best practices specific to supply chain and manufacturing operations.
Focus on Business Value
- Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and optimize production schedules through architectural improvements.
- Resilience: Architect solutions that enhance supply chain resilience, ensuring business continuity during disruptions or demand variability.
- User-Centric Design: Design solutions that improve user experiences for manufacturing operators, supply chain managers, and logistics teams.
Qualifications
Required Skills And Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Total 16+ years of experience out of which 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or leadership roles, with a significant focus on supply chain and manufacturing operations.
- Deep understanding of global supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning.
- Proven expertise in adopting technologies such as IoT, robotics, machine learning, predictive analytics, and ERP systems for manufacturing and supply chain optimization.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and interoperable architecture solutions in supply chain and manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including GMP, ISO standards, and other industry-specific compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP (especially modules for supply chain and manufacturing), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate) or supply chain technologies.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and driving digital transformation initiatives in manufacturing and supply chain.
