Summary:

Leads and performs focused on the complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting activities for Senegal (e g Reporting, Consolidation, etc.) within the General Accounting (GA) team Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Period Closing: Leads and performs focused on the complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting activities for an area (e g Reporting, Consolidation, etc.) within the General Accounting (GA) team Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensures timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of reporting package and associated disclosures. Supports preparation of relevant organization financial reporting, business planning, budgeting and forecasting. Validates accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliations and review of exceptions.
  • Business Analysis: Performs analysis of business performance versus budget and forecast and proposes improvement actions Performs benchmarking of key performance indicators with external and internal peers. Works with other finance professionals to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance and identify trends. Prepares financial modelling for various “what if” scenarios and the overall impact to the business unit.
  • Internal controls: Ensures transparency in financial reporting and disclosures. Leads Internal Control over Financial Reporting compliance for specific areas (e.g. record- to-report, order-to-cash, etc.) to ensure that processes and controls are designed effectively and address financial reporting.
  • Analysis: Performs analysis of accounts and highlights discrepancies/anomalies for correction Serves as escalation point or subject matter expert for resolution of accounting transactions and reporting questions.
  • Accounting and local statutory reporting: Enforces and/or provides input to Accelleron, Group Accounting Standards, compliance with Accelleron’s Accounting and Reporting Guidelines, local GAAP and Internal Control over Financial Reporting with Accelleron Group Charter as applicable. Serves as a functional expert and assists with guideline interpretation for internal partner groups.
  • Tax: Contributes to and ensures the preparation and filing of correct tax returns such as income tax, VAT and WHT in cooperation with the tax service provider. Continuously monitor changes in local tax legislation and assess their implications together with local and global experts.
  • Treasury: You are further accountable to actively manage your local bank relationships, monitor intraday banking operations and ensure payments preparation.
  • Best practices and optimization: Supports implementation of best practices and continuous optimization of relevant processes to gain efficiencies and drive productivity gains Drives harmonization and standardization in line with Group solutions and best practices.

  • Variety of tasks requires rigorous priority setting, adherence to committed deadlines and proactive leadership.
  • Interaction with many internal and external stakeholders requiring level-appropriate communication skills.

Your Background:

  • University degree in Finance/Controlling or Chartered Accountant or longstanding practical work experience with demonstrated achievements.
  • Strong accounting and financial background structured and result oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Overall high IT affinity with experience in SAP (S4Hana is a plus) and excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Strong team player with good problem-solving skills, approaching problems with open mind and persistence to deliver on time.
  • Able to handle different topics simultaneously, ideally used to matrix organizations.
  • Experience: 4+ years in controlling/accounting function in an international environment (industrial background is an asset).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and willingness to train other team members to reach their next professional level and act as deputy.
  • Fluency in English and local language is a must including understanding of the culture.
