Job Description Summary

Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing shipments, rigging and storage, providing visibility through projects and tools, reporting logistics metrics, control of invoices for logistics services, compliance with tender rates, identifying trends across global methods/practices and implementation.
Logistics Specialist ensures that customers’ needs are met in accordance with company policy and legislation.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Logistics Specialist is charged with the following employment duties:

  • Organization on time delivery equipment and parts in/out of the region (international and domestics shipments), rigging and storage.
  • Coordinating and communicating shipment delivery, rigging and storage requirements with service providers.
  • Planning and analysis of transportation, rigging and warehouse cost and tie to the financial ledger.
  • Responsible for timely, accurate and complete record keeping. Implementation of tools and dashboards for metric visibility and communication. Developing, measuring and reporting performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Support standardization and optimization   of logistics processes across the region. Drive data analysis and business case development for key projects. Drive improvements in standardization, simplification and productivity of daily activities. Leading change initiatives that will enable logistics to reach a world-class level of operations.
  • Support warehousing optimization, control and audit of warehouse operations (visit warehouse).
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with current, new and potential service providers.
  • Drive, support and implementation of Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) initiatives.
  • Logistics support of local manufacturing, including new products localization.
  • Communication with Regulatory Authorities: submit the list of raw materials for importation to meet needs of local manufacturing, control of special restriction for raw materials, provide regular reports.   
  • Import/Export process risk assessment and Implementation of Trade Compliance policies: Harmonized Tariff classification, Russian and international tariff and nontariff rules monitoring.
  • Cross-functionally work and continuous internal communication with sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, modalities, sales, finance, operations (OTR, HPM, etc.). Identify potential collaboration improvements and implement successful changes.
  • Primary contact for global affiliates in reference to the logistics process. Continuous internal communication with global and local managers, transportation and warehouse teams.
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
  • Proficient knowledge, understanding and leadership for International Trade Compliance, identify and resolve any trade compliance issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience working in logistics, engineering or supply chain management; or a High School diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in logistics or supply chain modeling & simulation.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
  • Customs clearance processes knowledge’s (Customs Union, worldwide): documents, specifics, time, key points to control, laws, tariff and nontariff rules.
  • Demonstrated logistics leadership of multiple facilities in a similar industry.
  • Excellent project management, communication and analytical skills.
