The Mortgage Quality Assurance Specialist manages and oversees the quality of loan files, works with business stakeholders: originations, operations, and underwriting on warranted identified defects, determines remediation options, and collaborates in providing reconciliation data for monthly reporting. Collaborate with business stakeholders: originations, operations, and underwriting to address and remediate identified defects while ensuring remediation efforts are compliant with state, federal, and local regulatory laws. Manage and collaborate with third-party audit vendor on timely completion of identified defects to ensure final publication deliverables are consistently met. Collaborate to track identified defects, identify trends, system errors, and process gaps during quality assurance reviews with the guidance and direction of the QA Manager. Collaborate on escalated identified system errors, processing gaps, and provide resolution if warranted to business stakeholders: Mortgage Technology, Mortgage Originations Leadership, Mortgage Operations Leadership, Mortgage Underwriting Leadership, or Mortgage Servicing Leadership. Manage and ensure the quality of loans are thoroughly analyzed and adhered to Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) portfolio, Fannie Mae (FNMA), and mortgage insurance (MI) guidelines. Manage and work with Mortgage Services Leadership and Mortgage Technology to review, test, and collaborate to implement compliance changes to the loan origination system (LOS). Expand and excel in complex and forensic underwriting skills and knowledge. Complete any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent education and/or experience. Five (5) years of mortgage operations experience. Five (5) years mortgage quality assurance audit experience. Extensive knowledge of mortgage and servicing related regulations. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and be capable of learning advanced skills in all applications. With minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities to ensure concurrent project timelines are consistently met. Highly analytical, detail oriented, inquisitive, and organized. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Able to analyze data, identify problems, and make recommendations that will benefit the credit union. Goal driven and self-motivated to work well under high volume and stress. Demonstrate a sense of personal responsibility in achieving success with a strong desire to expand current skillsets. Strong ability to function in a high-volume environment and within the time constraints while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain High level of professionalism and confidentiality of sensitive information.
