Job Title: Key Account Manager – GI Franchise (IBD)

  • Location: Mumbai
  • Reports To: Business Lead (West & South) – GI

Role Overview

As the Key Account Manager (KAM) for Mumbai, you will be responsible for driving Takeda’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) portfolio across one of the most critical GI markets in India. This role requires deep engagement with gastroenterologists, corporate hospitals, and key accounts to expand therapy adoption, improve patient access, and deliver strong business performance.

You will also be expected to embrace a digital-first mindset, leveraging modern tools and platforms to engage stakeholders, enhance scientific communication, and strengthen patient support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Territory Management

  • Manage the IBD portfolio across Mumbai & ROM, with focus on high-potential GI centers and corporate hospitals.
  • Build and execute account-specific business plans aligned with franchise strategy.
  • Identify and convert opportunities for therapy adoption and expand patient access across the region.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build long-term partnerships with clinicians, KOLs, hospital administrators, and procurement teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Medical, Market Access, Marketing) to deliver account-specific solutions.
  • Support scientific and awareness initiatives such as CMEs, advisory boards, and patient education programs.

Commercial Excellence

  • Deliver territory sales targets, account KPIs, and patient growth objectives.
  • Ensure execution excellence in key accounts, ensuring therapy availability and adoption.
  • Track competitor landscape and share actionable market intelligence.

Compliance & Governance

  • Uphold Takeda’s compliance framework in all engagements.
  • Ensure ethical business practices and transparent partnerships across accounts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent business qualification preferred.
  • 6–10 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience.
  • Strong experience in specialty/biologics portfolios; prior IBD/GI experience is preferred.
  • Proven success in handling corporate hospitals and large accounts.
  • Strong account management, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
  • Digital mindset – ability to use digital platforms, data-driven tools, and omni-channel engagement to drive stronger account impact.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Agile, entrepreneurial, and patient-centric approach with high accountability.
