JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

The System Administrator III will evaluate system specifications, install enterprise computer systems, configure systems, establish standards, ensure hardware/software compatibility, maintain workstations and server systems focusing on the operating system & the network.

What You Will Do With JT4

  • Perform daily operational support of Microsoft Windows server software including system security, user access management, configuration, backups and restores.
  • Specify network requirements, monitor LAN performance, troubleshoot networking hardware, and ensure systems operate according to defined specifications and parameters.
  • Knowledge of VxRail hyper converged infrastructure, including deployment, implementation, and manages virtualization infrastructure using VMware, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN for optimal performance, scalability and high availability.
  • Organize and secure directory structures; assist and train staff on the use of department Document Management (DM) Systems, associated databases, and Configuration Management CM/DM release procedures.
  • Specify hardware requirements and maintain Computer Authorization and Custodial Receipt Listings (CA/CRL) to track equipment configurations and identification logs.
  • Serve as point of contact (POC) for problem reporting, incremental version updates, and monitor yearly support contracts.
  • Recommend future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements. Schedule, plan, and perform system upgrades including transitions from design, test, production, and documentation environments.
  • Provide operational status and reporting as required.
  • Analyze system logs and proactively identify potential issues using intermediate troubleshooting techniques and tools.
  • Manage and administer storage solutions such as Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems under guidance.
  • Research and assist with the integration of new technologies into existing systems to improve performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement security protocols aligned with best practices to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data.
  • Use established policies, procedures, and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity under minimum supervision.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure system administration practices align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies, applying knowledge to continuously improve system administration practices and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex system logs and identify potential issues.
  • Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within the first 180 days of employment
  • Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS - EDCUATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training. Possess seven years related experience or combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise. Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.

In addition, a Systems Administrator III must possess the following qualifications:

  • Must have specific experience in the use of MS window server environments and various computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), database, MS Office and Web enabled applications
  • Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
  • Employee is expected to routinely cross fields in the completion of somewhat difficult and varied assignments
  • Must be capable of updating or repairing computer systems
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • Must possess valid, state-issued driver's license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Salary

The expected salary range for this position is $83,200 to $135,200 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Working Conditions

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
